Title: Mumbai terror Islamic... Post by Grendel on Jan 9th, 2009 at 7:21pm
Chilling calls point to Pakistan terror link
Matt Wade, New Delhi January 9, 2009 "WE HAVE three foreigners, including women from Singapore and China," a terrorist says into his mobile phone. "Kill them," is the reply. In the background, terrorists inside Mumbai's Oberoi Hotel can be heard directing hostages to stand in line. Two Muslims are asked to stand aside. Then there is the sound of gunfire followed by a round of cheering. This brutal exchange comes from a transcript of phone calls between the Mumbai terrorists and their "handlers" intercepted during November's Mumbai terrorist attack and included in a dossier of evidence prepared by the Indian Government. India claims the dossier, a copy of which has been seen by The Age, proves the Mumbai attacks were being directed by masterminds operating from Pakistan. In the wake of the dossier's release, Pakistan's National Security Adviser admitted that the lone surviving gunman from the attacks, Mohammad Ajmal Amir, is a Pakistani citizen. A few hours later, the adviser, Mahmud Ali Durrani, was sacked. Sometimes the handlers gave specific tactical advice. "The hostages are of use only as long as you do not come under fire," a caller instructs gunmen holding Israeli hostages in Mumbai's Nariman House. He adds: "If you are still threatened, then don't saddle yourself with the burden of the hostages. Immediately kill them." At other times an appeal is made to the gunmen's religious zeal. "Brother, you have to fight. This is a matter of prestige of Islam," a caller exhorts one terrorist. Across town at the Oberoi Hotel terrorists received a similar pep talk: "Everything being recorded by media. Inflict maximum damage. Keep fighting. Don't be taken alive." The dossier says these telephone conversations were "intercepted and recorded by Indian agencies" shortly after the attacks began on the night of November 26. It provides details of phone numbers and handsets used in the exchanges. The Indian Government says the evidence "unmistakably establishes" the 10 terrorists who attacked Mumbai were "chosen, trained, dispatched and guided" by the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. The document was delivered to the Pakistan Government earlier this week as part of a diplomatic offensive by India to press its neighbour to act more decisively against the group. The document was also handed to the Delhi-based envoys of 14 countries that lost nationals in the Mumbai attack, including Australia's high commissioner to India, John McCarthy. The two Australians killed in the Mumbai attacks are listed in the dossier among the 26 foreigners who died. The transcripts in the dossier show the callers also provided the gunmen with information about events outside the buildings where they were holed up, presumably gleaned from the media's coverage of the assault. "The ATS chief (a senior anti-terrorism officer) has been killed," says one caller to a terrorist inside the Taj Mahal Hotel. In a separate conversation with terrorists inside that hotel, a caller says: "There are three ministers and one secretary of the cabinet in your hotel. We don't know in which room." "Oh! That is good news. It is the icing on the cake!" says the terrorist. After handing the dossier to Pakistan, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh increased pressure by alleging the sophistication of the attack suggested it must have had the support of "official agencies". |

Yes, they are very bad people, it is very troubling that people can be deluded into believing that committing torture and murder, is ever what their religion's god wants them to do.
This is the aspect of Islam that people wish to see the Islamic scholars/preachers speak out most strongly against, any who does not openly, and wholeheartedly condemn acts of violence perpetrated in the religion's name, should be ostracised by the whole community. Any who condone it should be told they are forever shunned by god. |

Well, it's not happening, is it? And everyone knows why it is not happening. Because murdering infidels is not against islam but an islamic duty, as these murderers and their enables and exusers understand it. Otherwise it woulkd have stopped long ago, or at lest there wwould be a veery strong and deetermined anti-terrorist islamic movement. Anti-terrorist islamic movement - say it out loud and hear how absurd it sounds. |

The reason they dont speak out is because it is Islamic to kill infidels, and everyone knows it is. Usually the best they do is make weasel statements about 'We deplore the loss of innocent life' which is a wink and a nod to the ummah. Anyone who rejects Allah and the Prophet is NEVER innocent, but worthy of death. |
