Why is it that those who defend Islamic laws and systems of government tend to compare them with standards that were set 1400 years ago in the middle east, or hold up events like the Holocaust as representative of modern (or western) alternatives? Aren't the Nazism references a bit ironic given the number of Muslim allies Hitler had? Is this an implicit concession that Islamic law is worse than modern alternatives?
