Acid attack on Afghan schoolgirls
Attackers in Afghanistan have sprayed acid in the faces of at least 15 girls near a school in Kandahar, police say.
They say the attack happened shortly before at least six people were killed in a bomb blast near a government building in the city.
Doctors say the six girls were wearing Islamic burkas or veils which provided them with some protection.
.....A spokesman for the Taleban denied involvement in the attack.

The former Taleban government - ousted from power in 2001 - banned girls from attending school.

Afghanistan mourns bomb victims
......President Karzai said about 35 people had been killed - most of them children, teachers and MPs - while the provincial governor told the BBC there had been 41 deaths.
......But our correspondent says many questions remain, including that of responsibility.
The Taleban have denied that they carried out the attack, but they and al-Qaeda are the only ones known to use suicide bombs in Afghanistan so far.

One thing you can't say about the Talibaan is they are liars. They have a fairly staunch record of admitting to their actions. So I'd take them at their word on that one. A ban on women wearing brightly coloured clothing (in their terms "sexually attracting colours").

Banning women's gatherings on festive occasions such as the Eids or for a recreational purpose.

Banning women from washing clothes next to rivers or at public places.

All place names with the word 'women' in it have been changed. For example "women's garden" has been renamed "spring garden".

Banning women from appearing on the balcony of their apartments or houses.

Compulsory painting of all windows so women can not be seen from the outside.

Banning male tailors from taking measurements or sewing women's clothes.

Banned from using female public baths.

Public buses have been separated into male and female buses.
