A young Australian chinese girl who has converted to Islam by Sheikh Haron, has recently posted her video on You Tube.

As has been pointed out enough times already, Sheikh' Haron is doubtfully a genuine figure.

More smoke and mirrors in an attempt to explain the unexplainable? Defend the indefensible?

I don't get it? Why is it such a big issue that a Chinese girl converts to Islam?

I dunno, i think it's got something to do with all the sounds of rockets and machine guns that close all of "Sheikh" Harons videos. Just to make sure he gets the maximum anti-Islamic sentiment out of all his videos.

Perhaps the Chinese community was deemed as too sympathetic to Muslims (by the Islamic Australia Federation, who are most likely behind the Sheikh Haron persona), so they had to try and turn them against Islam by producing this video.

There are Caucasian Buddhists (Richard Gere), Muslims (Cat Stevens), Jews (Madonna) and Christians.

Likewise, there are Chinese Christians, Buddhist, Jews and Athiests. So why is there such interests in a Chinese Muslim girl? She's not the first one to convert, nor will she be the last.

Are we so socially backwards and conservative that this notion is incredulous?

I very much doubt this is a bona fide conversion acid. I've actually done a little research recently on this "Sheikh" Haron, and have discovered a few very bizarre things. For instance the PO Box that he uses is actually registered to a Spiritual Consultation & Astrology service (Astrology is strictly forbidden in Islam, and 'Spiritual Consultation' seems to be a Baha'i construct). It's also located in the heart of the Sydney Baha'i community. And the company that has registered the domain name sheikhharon.com is actually registered to 3 different people, one of them has the name Haron, another has the name Manteghi and the other has a Christian name,

The Sheikh Haron persona actually claims that he was originally called Ayatollah Manteghi, but then changed his name to Sheikh Haron. Also the two names which are Persian appear to be Baha'i rather than Muslim. Also all the mixing up of Shi'a and Sunni issues/beliefs in the websites material, as well as the use of media terminology for Muslims, rather than the natural terms Muslims would use. In most of his speeches he's addressing an audience in Persian, yet I've never come across any sizeable Persian Muslim community here. Also notice that all these videos of females 'converting' always seem to have them fully covered (very few converts cover their entire face, and most don't even wear hijab until they feel a bit more comortable in the role of a Muslim) and they're always ranting on about militant stuff and have rockets and machine guns in the background. Not one single article on his site has a single piece of spiritual benefit to it, it's all just articles that are carefully constructed so as to cause maximum fear and distrust in non-Muslim Australians who wouldn't know any better. Even the most militant Islamic websites are replete with spiritual articles as well.

I believe if you read the site, having your background in Malaysia and having had contact with other Muslims, that you'd probably pick it for the hoax it is also.

I have to admit that I've only visited the site once when SheikhHarron started making appearance on this forum. I only gave it a cursory look before departing. Westerners have a ignorant view of who a Muslim is and an even more flawed understanding of Islam. The website displays all the misconceptions about Muslims and Islam.

There are real extremist sites that do promote violence against the "infidels". I have seen some... this is not one of them. It appears to be a clumsy and amateurish attempt to look like one. It is most likely created by someone who has no understanding of Islam.



However, my point is why do people (like, say Eddi) feel the need to post something like this as if a Chinese girl converting to Islam (whether real or not) is so incredible that it is to be disbelieved.

Since Eddi only joined 13 days ago, and has only had 3 posts since being here, the other two also about Sheikh Haron, i think it would tend to indicate Eddi is perhaps one of the 'foot soldiers' of the Sheikh Haron persona. One of his other posts was a claim that he has a close friend who follows Sheikh Haron and met him personally, and allayed his doubts that Sheikh Haron is a bona fide figure.

Really? I've been on sparodically of late so I missed his entry into this forum. Did he really claim that? I'll have to read his other posts. LOL.
