Title: South Africa and Immigrants.
Post by jfk on Jun 12th, 2008 at 6:50pm
Anyone happen to catch Dateline this week, some interesting stories on Lebanon and South Africa, seems that Lebanon is run by Syria and Iran and that housing is being supplied to immigrants in South Africa while the locals go homeless and jobless. See how the Muslims love each other, in Lebanon the christians are the safe ones.

I'd invite all the White South Africans to emigrate to Australia and leave SAF to the Blacks.

The south african immigrants are very good.
hard workers, law abiding, assimilate, often start their own businesses, good to deal with.

They know what they have escaped from and appreciate what Aussie offers.

Many 'whites', have suffered horribly in the transition from colonial rule in Africa, and often we see this manifest itself in a profound hatred for 'black' people.

I used to have a Sth African customer who witnessed terrible things, and he has developed a burning hatred which he will never likely be rid of.
Just because they are white, does not mean that they will not have serious issues, which they will bring to these shores, just like many black africans do.

It is hard to be personally judgemental of people who have experienced horrors which we have not.

We had revered 'Diggers', who maintained an absolute hatred for the Japanese, because of their experiences in WW2, we may not have agreed with them, but we could empathise enough to understand why they felt the way they did.

People from anywhere can be good or bad, and we can understand how their experiences could scar them, we just have to try and help them where we can, in moving on and accepting that if they come to our country as migrants, we have standards which we expect all citizens to maintain, irrespective of their pasts.

Yes, well it a pity that many in the Labor party and Keating didn't understand this simple fact and not try to make us part of Asia.
