A good stiff one?
Do you think that a good cleaning of the cobwebs might help her relax? Is this the reason she is so uptight? Discuss... |

Maybe oceans needs a gag, or to have her wrists bound ?

You post in your own forum Sprint...and I dont find it neccessary to pass comment on that.
This all Im doing. Im trying to be tolerant of what I perceive to be a flame. Quote:
And as Im not into sadomasochistic pastimes..Ill have to pass. |

Well being a nature lover IQ - I encourage the odd cobweb in my house. I find it keeps the insects at bay and I quite like the intricate little webs they weave. There's no way I'd attack them with my broom. |

oceans - "a gag or wrists bound" to stop you swamping this forum (esp as a moderator) .
Whatever made you think of some sexual perversion ? mantra - I have some great spiders webs at my place. One lasted years !!! Told the cleaner to leave it up. In the end a storm blew it away. |

Oceans is about to make her 2000th post (with this proifile anyway)
I think she made over 1000 with the old profile before she changed over. |

Oceans - try to ignore it, if you can't think of a good response. I know you tell me to ignore it (which I can never do of course), but look at what gets dished out to me - a lot worse than what you've got today.
Just try and counteract it with something else - even if you have to be a bit mean occasionally. |

I can relate to that Sprintcyclist. Huntsmen have hung around the house on a few occasions and have stayed for months. The children used to whinge when they were younger - they were always worried about a visit when they were asleep at night. But these spiders have never done any harm and have kept the daddy long legs under control - so they're welcome to stay. Although I haven't seen one for a couple of years now. This must be spider weather though - I'm constantly walking through huge webs as soon as I walk outside - bit unfortunate for the spider, but I never notice them until it's too late. |

No sprintcyclist. It's Oceans forum - she created it and I wanted to change it.
While I've been moderator here - it's obvious the 3 muskateers aren't happy about it - so it looks like Oceans will be in control again very soon and so she should be. |

Title: Re: Does Mantra need...? Post by sprintcyclist on Mar 21st, 2008 at 1:08am mantra - the 3 musketeers are not happy with oceans. she failed 1st time. While you have the luxury of a "right of reply [freedom of speech]" some of us don't because the forum dictator decided to take a dump then lock the thread so as to prohibit a response. Quote:
mantra deliberately made her threats just before 11 pm and closed the thread at 6 am. It was obvious that most people were asleep while she impatiently tapped her foot and waited to lock the thread denying any one a right of reply in the appropriate thread. The place to exercise a "right of reply [freedom of speech]" was closed by Adolf. |

Failed because of flaming and disrespect for the forum Sprint [ mainly perpretrated by YOU] you ought to be ashamed of yourself. ..Im tougher amd more determined ..just try on your cr ap again mate! You will be deleted without warning. unless via pm you can convince me aotherwise..but that aint gonna happen is it. ;) that takes maturity. From now on flames such as this and disregard for the moderator of this forum will not be tolerated.[whoever she may be..at the moment I am her]. So whilst you my think it is your right to come in here and undermine me.I think its my right to remove such flames..you've been warned as have the rest of you.. Im tolerant but that only goes so far. Targetting and harrassment of posters is NOT tolerated neither is overt rascism and anything intimating sexual violence toward children..overt sexiual/ blatant discrimination to women/men Yesterday I saw a post from pender on the way forums are moderated and I am taking his advice.. So girls..if your up to it..happy posting.. If you just want to flame and be offensive.. BUGGER OFF!!!! My moderation style is not up for discussion..so dont bother. You know the rules..there is no confusion. By the end of the day..this thread will be locked. It should have been deleted the moment it went up... |

Title: Re: Does Mantra need...? Post by oCeAnIc on Mar 21st, 2008 at 7:57am
As you all have made so much milaege out of the fart thread and most of it as an excuse to tear into mantra ..It will remain locked and part of forum history..it turned out to be devisive and a negative inluence on the whole forum [ i dont care whos FAULT that was]..so Im not reinstating it.
Put another up in chat if its so important and give FD the headache of moderating it. |

I meant this and you obviously didnt read the rules. I am the moderator not your wife. I will listen to any reasonable request if you speak to me respectfully and not do your old trick of trying to incite others to flame against me, this has been the problem with this forum for such a long time..pple think they can trash it...simple..Learn some life skills DT. You and IQ hounded mantra into the ground and now shes gone[ instead of speaking with her respectfully ]..you wont do the same with me.. |

Maybe you can do what you said you would do. I understand the concept of upholding your principles may be difficult. Try though. I can't move the thread. Only you can. And freediver only obliges leftards. |

More insults...as you obviously dont know the meaning of respectful and cannot speak to someone without the urge to put themdown..Ill ignore that one.. I dont have a problem with the word fart..what I do have a problem with is what the thread descended into [ I got a laugh out of it too].. You and IQ have taken great delight in going after mantra for nigh on a week...thats excessive in anyones book. Im not saying mantra didnt play her own part in it all..but what I am saying out of respect for the forum and at this point mantra..who has been so distraught by the chaos its caused, I will not be reinstating it..as yet. Next week when hot heads and hurt feelings have settled down I will reconsider..and then I will put it back up in here. ...next Friday perhaps. So you have your answer DT..The thread is subject to rules laid out above..Humour is welcomed, attacks, villification and putdowns are not. I dont dislike you DT..you have some good qualities ..but I cant run a forum without some rules. Noone likes rules but its part of life. |

Truth is not insult. And it is true that you offered to move the thread then reneged on your offer which is a failure to uphold a principle. Unless of course you don't possess the principle in the first place. So unless you do as you said you would do you are unprincipled. That's not a baseless insult - it is the truth. |

My decsion to reconsider was based in fact on compassion and principle as it so happens..You are not the only one who inhabits this forum. After mantra was so upset she couldnt she could no longer reconcile her particiaption..then the/my principle changed..my offer previous to that was based on my own objection to all the kerfuffle over the silly word and the too strict line on silly every day words used by us all..I saw a slippery slope to total abandonment of commonsense on trivial issues that would lead to a closed graveyard that would once have been known as Ozpolitics..but thast just my take on the whole issue. Im done argueing semantics with you in this. Its clear you want the thread back now and thats not going to happen. Unles FD over rules me and in that case it will. Have a wonderful Easter DT..god bless your little cotton socks.... ::) |

What is destructive to a forum (as I said right at the start) is inequitable moderation - the kind you, mantra and freediver practice. But I am pleased to see you concede that your principles are easily abandoned and you can renege on a principle according to your mood on the day. It is commendable (and noteworthy) that you admit that you can not be trusted to hold to a principle. |
