How can you tell whether it is being speed throttled by the hosting company or if there is just a slow connection at the user's end? We are nowhere near reaching our bandwidth limit.

I am using siteuptime to monitor the site. The average response time they report is 0.19 seconds. There have been 3 outages in about a month - two associated with the site going offline at the end of last month. This was a problem with the new account setup with the new host, which has been fixed. There was another downtime shortly after that, no idea why.

Im finding ity difficult to get in lately..maybe thats a good thing for all of you here :)

So Im not sure if its my end or yours..bit its frustrating.

Next time it happens, can someone please try comparing the speed of OzPolitic with the speed of comparable sites, to see if it is specific to OzPolitic. When I was on here last night I had no problems. Friday afternoon on the other hand was a different matter, but my connection is always slow on a friday afternoon.
