Title: BCCI warns Australia of repercussions in India
Post by boxingkangaroo on Mar 6th, 2008 at 4:40pm
MELBOURNE: BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah on Monday warned that 'unnecessary' targeting of Harbhajan Singh by Australian spectators and media could result in a similar treatment for the world champions when they tour India later this year.

Harbhajan was cleared of any wrongdoing by match referee after local media reported that the off-spinner had 'aped' like a monkey towards the Sydney crowd during the first tri-series finals and the BCCI seems to have lost its patience after the latest controversy.

"Let Australia come to us and see what the (Indian) crowd might do," Shah said.

"It's not a good thing, people must forget. All these reports are unnecessary, when your team comes here, if it's too much media attention maybe there will be the same crowd behaviour in India," he was quoted as saying by The Age .

I dont think spectators would have lied about Harbhajan gesturing at them with monkey actions..why would they it doesnt make sense..

Is Australian cricket Board wet nursing  the Indian Team to prevent the tour from falling into a heap?

I see much disrespect from the Indian team  to the Australians spectators and Aussie cricket team.

Maybe the whole tone of Cricket In Australia is at a turning point.

The Australian reign as the worlds best may be in peril.

yes, another threat by the bullyboy of world cricket.

crowd behaviour there in the past has been deplorable.
They are behind barbed wire fences, light flares and as a crowd call out "monkey" to symonds.

Then they claim we are racist and threaten to take their ball and go home. Wish they had.
