Family members attempted to resuscitate him, and further medical help was given at the Waihau Bay boat ramp, but he never regained consciousness. No further details would be available until next of kin have been notified, police said. A 29-year-old Waikato woman went missing last Friday while diving with three others for scallops off Motiti Island, about 30km east of Mt Maunganui. Catherine Elizabeth Kells's body was found two days later, Tauranga police said.
