In America there is a organistion existing whereby a man can have more than one wife.

This means he produces many children and can have many wives.

Im getting additional information to support this of course, but fron what I rememeber seeing a lot of the wives were quite happy share with other wives.

What do you think about this and what would be advantages and disadvantages of a situation such as this. ?

These women would have to be fairly devoid of jealousy and possessiveness.

This seemed a bit weird to me when I first heard it..but many men in society carry on a life like this in secret.

I think some of these organisations had some very disturbing practices attached to them as well regarding explotation of children, but I wasnt neccessarily referring to these.

I guess what Im saying is perhaps its not nercessarily normal for a man to be monogamous..when they find it so difficult to not think about other women and desist from going after them.

Interested to hear from males on this one.

i disagree, one wife for one man, that is why we are 50/50.

men who cant keep to their own wife are weak.

You misread it- i said under SLAVE conditions.

Mormons have more than one wife though not under slave conditions. unless ive been misled.

I could not share my man lightly. I am very jealous by nature. Too many emotions and too much risk in my view, and probably end up in at least both the women being hurt.

I actually think it wpuld work better for a woman to have two husbands.

I think men are very jealous and maybe it wouldnt work.

Women are better able to make concessions if they can see the sense in it.

multiple wives might work well.
One wife would always have another woman there to chat with .

A "cheating" husband would as likely "cheat" on his 2 or more wives.

Would be as "fair" for a wealthy woman to have a number of husbands.

As long as everyone was fully aware and ok with it, up to them.
Noone is harmed.

I think having a few wives I would get outvoted on decisions.
Other than that, sounds ok, I like women.

I don't think it's a very good idea. Even though Australia's women outnumber the men.

I guess... in the wild there's a dominant male... etc... but then again... are there any animals that pick one mate besides humans? Gorillas?

Anyway... I don't think it's a good idea. One partner is the way to go in my opinion... but.... interesting topic nevertheless...

Did you know the Egyptian Pharoah Rameses was said to have over 100 wives and over a 1000 children? :o He must have been busy. :o ;D

I agree, we cant get a true picture of another human thru the medium of the internet..so much is lost in translation.

I find Aussie very sweet on some levels and other times he 'surprises' me. But its all good :)

Man... I think some chicks are attracted to my political views. 8-) They love the whole 'fight against mainstream views' thing. :P I think you'd actually be surprised how many girls are secretely opposed to it. :o They're just waiting for someone like me to ignite their true/held back political feelings. Most popular multciulturalism talking topic: Indians. :P

But like Ausnat said... politics and love... like the church and the state... usually stay separate in real life anyway. Definitely leaves me when I leave the computer. I actually hate talking politics with friends... bores me cause they have no idea what they're talking about and can't keep up.

Besides... if I speak out against multiculturalism in public... I'd get sued... because I'm in Victoria... the land of 'free speech.' ::)

I agree DT, the average Aus chick is not too into Politics , not sexist connie..fact.

I like to talk about politics but I dont always get the detail but most females dont.(like to talk about politics I mean)

Well far out. I'd hate to be the husband of a wife who was a cop... for example... because she'd be the 'man' of the house. It'd make me feel uncomfortable. Men have egos. I dunno what it is... but we have to be superior in certain things... otherwise women are unattractive. Dates back the stone age. Would I want a wife that beats me in an arm wrestle? :-? Better yet.. would you want a weakling as a husband? :-? I don't think so. Works both ways.

This goes for intelligence as well. Would a man want a wife that could out debate him? Well...actually... probably wouldn't be THAT bad... but as far as actual things go... like job... income... and strength... men wanna be superior.
On that note... ever see a guy who likes stupid chicks?

Is it any wonder Bill Clinton doesn't mind that his wife is running for Presisndet? Because he's like, "Been there... done that... therefore... I don't mind if my wife does it SECOND. I mean... she probably won't get in for a second term like I did."

I always thought men were a bit intimidated by smart /independent women and now youve confimrmed it..
