Why do you need make up if you are only going down the shops for some milk?

Im sure some women do wear makeup to go to the shops..why? well its a girl thing..one never knows if you may meet your potential life partner over picking up the milk and a paper.we cant be seen looking like death and THEN we see the man of our dreams..simple really! |

And women also wear makeup because they like too. But makeup is not such a big deal anymore. As a female becomes more confident , the less makeup she wears. A bit like war paint. |

I like it when women dont wear make up. Shows the are confident and you can see their natural beauty. :)

I don't know. Maybe their peer group does, they have been taught to, they are ashamed of their natural looks, they think it their duty to be ornamental for men. Or mayeb they are very competitive in nature and how they look and how many men they attract is somethign they are competitive about. Or maybe how they look is about the only thing they can control in their lives. The answers are pretty varied according to the woman who does it i would guess. Some would jsut say it is just taking pride in their appearance and a good thing. I dont wear make up. Never have. |

I think in that context Connie..it comes down to insecurity..shame, well maybe?
A lot of very pretty women wear makeup and its obvious they dont need it. |

Why do women like sopies so much? and big brother, and can never keep a friendship with another woman for more than 5 years?
|
|
Title: Re: Understanding women/females. Post by cautious connie on Jun 20th, 2007 at 9:49pm
I don't like all soapies, but I have in the past. Hate big brother. I like reading romances and some sagas and movies like Sleepless in Seattle though and the reason for that is that I like seeing happy endings and things working out for people and am interested in their ways and means of making their lives meaningful/surviving.
I don't make many close friends. Those I make i tend to keep a long time. I have more than one female friend whom i have been friends with more than twenty years. |

Ahh yes Sleepless in Seattle..love it. And soapies, maybe once but now just mindless dribble. I go for docos, anyhthing David Attenborough..Blue Planet etc. I have watched BB but got boring quickly..phases. As for keeping friendships..thats not quite true..guess it depends on if they were true friends to begin with...I have friendships going back quite a way. |

I always thought women kept women/women friendships longer than men keep men/men friendships.
Also thought women wore makeup for themselves. To feel good about themselves. Same as I like to dress up when I go out. makes it .. an occassion. |

I always thought so too Sprint.. And the makeup thing? Sometimes I do sometimes I dont..I could be bothered or I couldnt..occasion is a factor-of course. : :-* |

Make up is cultural and advertising driven. How many men put on makeup as well as dress for going out?

this is very true Connie..men do as well. Thru dress and wearing scent etc..aftershave and they do the mens makeup range now too..so men are moving into the market as well. |

Why is it, when a woman fights with somebody, peace returns and then a little while later starts it up again?

Just wondering if women have stronger orgasms when you have not had one for a while, eg "save it up". Or is it when you are orgasming more often eg, "being more in touch with yourself ? " |

I can say this with some confidence Sprint and thank you fior your frank question. Definitely if some time has passed and we have a 'sexy time explosion' ie orgasm(borat said that first), then they will be more intense.. But the biggest one is the power or sexual attraction of her partner..if she is very attracted to him..it of course will be the ultimate.. Of course mantra and connie will have theyre own take on this. But I find partner attraction ie: sexual attraction ,the most important factor of all. We are slightly different to men in that we will not just feel 'horny' (excuse description) and go looking for an outlet for that frustration..we are turned on BY a hot looking/sexy guy. And our desire stays at a much higher level for longer. Women are very sensual beings . :-* and I might add, often need to be in love to enjoy that side of a relationship. |

Not necessarily Sprint. The main factor is who the person is, also important is if I've been getting on with the person and feel close and if i am sufficiently relaxed. But i do think women have times when they want sex more than other times anyway Oceans, regardless of the person they are with. It is partly hormonal I think - I recall reading there are links with testosterone levels and progesterone/oestregen balance and sexual desire in women. It is a pretty complex intermingling. Also, some studies have supposedly shown that the more a couple has sex the more they want it, which would be counter to your suggestion Sprint. |

No comment - there's no way I'd discuss sex up close and personal on a public forum - but why don't you ask IQ for her contribution - she might (not) have something interesting to contribute?

connie..I guess it is subjective and yes you are right estrogen plays a large part..evener larger is for me the way I feel about my partner.. I think humour is sexy too and if a man can make you laugh thats a big plus in his favour. |
