the bible is supposed to be the word of God, so if u can proof the authenticity of the bible then u can prove God's existence.

however, the problem is that the authenticity of the bible cannot be verified due to it being written in a different language than when it was first revealed (as it was not revealed in English, rather Aramaic). this leads to translation errors, since no two languages are exactly alike. furthermore, the majority of the New Testament was written by Paul, after Jesus was crucified and there are a few chapters that were not in the original transcripts.

By proving the authenticity, do you mean proving that God wrote it, or that it is old? Just proving that it is old wouldn't prove the existence of God.

I can't see it. Even if you pointed me to a light in the sky I would have no idea whether it was pluto. The point is, in order to accept it, you have to take many things for granted, including a model of the universe. At least, I think that's the point. Sprint may have had something else in mind.

The difference between a random light in the sky and pluto is not what you see, but how you interpret it. It depends on your model of the universe. Thus it is not proof of pluto's existence.

You must have a pretty powerful telescope there, Skeptic. And not live in Australia.

Pluto wasnt located until 1930, and even then it was only due to tracking light across photographic plates using a massive telescope located at alpine level (2000m+).

Even with that massive telescope, you wouldnt be able to pick out Pluto from any other star in the night sky.

Seeing a light in the sky through your telescope doesn't prove that Pluto exists as a planet (which is what I presume is the point of this argument). It only proves that you can find a light in the sky which looks no different from another light, and that someone told you that light was Pluto, and that Pluto is a planet. You will be unable to determine any characteristics of Pluto, therefore you can only trust what someone else has told you is true. That is, you believe that light is planet Pluto because of scientific theory.

Now consider the God argument. There is no doubt that Jesus did exist, and he looked no different from any other man. Now suppose someone tells you that Jesus is the son of God (and therefore he is God, as part of the Holy Trinity). Does he become God, just because someone told you he was God? I mean, you can see him, but he looks just the same as every other man. If you choose to believe in the scriptures, then he must be God.

There is no proof that either Pluto is a planet, or Jesus was God. They are both just principles that certain people believe to be true. Faith.

We are on topic. If you cannot prove Pluto exists in the physical realm, how can you prove God exists on a spiritual level?

How can humanity be proven to exist? You will say because it is real in the physical world. But when does each human start to exist? Is it at the time you were conceived? The time you were born? The time that you became aware of your existence?

These are important concepts, because prior to your being in the physical world, you did not exist. And you will not exist in 100 years time. So when you are not existing, where are you?

I see this is the reason that spirituality and God(s) become an important part of many people's lives, to neatly explain human existence.
